  1. Prepare of Dry ingredients-.
  2. You need 1.5 cup of maida / all purpose flour.
  3. It's 2 Tb of cornflour.
  4. Prepare 1/2 tsp of baking soda.
  5. You need 1 tsp of baking powder.
  6. It's 3 Tb of thandai powder(used ready made available in market).
  7. Prepare of Wet ingredients-.
  8. Prepare 1 cup of curd.
  9. It's 3/4 cup of powdered sugar.
  10. You need 1/2 cup of refined oil.
  11. You need 1/4 tsp of vanilla essence.
  12. You need of Few drops edible liquid / gel food colour of choice.
  13. You need of For frosting-.
  14. It's 1 cup of whipping cream.
  15. Prepare as needed of Food colours- used blue, yellow, pink, green.

Line the muffin tray with muffin or cupcake liners. Sift flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda together into a bowl. Add thandai powder and mix well. In another bowl whisk sugar, milk, yogurt and butter together till its mixed well.

  1. Preheat oven to 180°.Line vup cake moulds with paper liners and keep aside..
  2. Sieve the dry ingredients together and keep aside.
  3. In a mixing bowl take curd and add sugar.. Mix well till sugar blends completely with curd. Now add oil and mix well. Add vanila essence and mix well..
  4. Now add dry ingredients to wet ingredients little by little with mixing in one direction. If the batter is thick add little milk to adjust consistency. It should not be very thick or thin..
  5. For making non frost cakes- divide the batter into 5 portions. To each portion add few drops of colour of your choice. Mix well..
  6. With a spoon fill each coloured portion in cup cake liners till 3/4 full. Tap twice and place in preheated oven for 15 minutes(time varies from oven to oven). Check with a tooth pick. If underdone then cook for another 2-5 minutes. Cool and serve..
  7. For frosting- Take whipping cream in a deep vessel and whip with an electric beater till soft peaks are formed. (can use whipped cream available at bakeries and skip this step)..
  8. Now divide this whipped cream into desired portions and put few drop of different colours in each. Mix each portion seperately..
  9. Take a cling film and spread it on a plate. Put vertical layers of coloured whipped cream one beside other. Eg. First a vertical layer of yellow, then blue next to it, then pink next to it. Now roll the film like a toffee roll..
  10. Take a big piping bag with star nozzle. Cut one end of wrapped cling film and insert the wrapped film in the piping bag with open end towards the nozzle end. Close the piping bag tightly. Pipe the frosting on cooled cup cakes. Serve in your Holi parties..
