They are made with a vanilla cupcake base, orange zest added to the cupcake batter, then topped with an orange cream frosting that is packed with zesty orange flavor! Strawberry Orange Cupcakes step by step
- Preheat oven to 180 and line cupcakes molds.
- Mix strawberry puree and milk in a bowl and keep it aside.
- In a bowl, blend butter and sugar for 4-5 minutes.
- Add egg and blend until pale and frothy.
- Add orange zest and mix well.
- Now gradually alternatively add dry ingredients and Strawberry mix and blend until well combined.
- Pour batter into prepared cupcakes molds upto 2/3 level Bake for 18-20 minutes until done.
- Allow to cool completely. You can prepare Orange butter cream or whipped cream frosting as per taste or skip frosting. I have used whipped cream as I like it more than butter cream.
- In a large bowl, beat whipping cream and powdered sugar on medium speed until cream thickens.
- Increase speed and blend to form stiff peaks. Add in orange juice and food colouring. Blend well. Refrigerate icing until ready to pipe. Frost cupcakes as desired.
- Add strawberries on top and serve.
